From summer inertia to high energy preparations for a busy Autumn!
This was an unusual August. Amidst the summer heat and the temptation of the refreshingly crystal waters of the Greek seas we managed to stay concentrated to our goal: prepare every single detail and get ready to welcome over 4.000 attendees in 8 back to back events during the months of September and October.

Student cheating inspires a conference “Integrity as a Way Forward”
It all started back in 1990 with a survey conducted by Dr. Donald McCabe, asking students about cheating behaviors. The results were so alarming that in 1992, Dr. McCabe with a group of trusted colleagues formed the Center for Academic Integrity (ICAI), to combat cheating, plagiarism, and academic dishonesty in higher education. After 24 years, for the first time, the Center decided to organize a conference in the Mediterranean region, namely the Inaugural Mediterranean Conference “Integrity as a Way Forward”. Erasmus is proud to have been part of this successful event, hosted by the American College of Greece in Athens, on 8-10 September 2016. The organizational challenge of having a preparation period in the heart of the summer - for an academic conference - was significant but not unbeatable! The conference was very successful and provided an excellent ambience for lively discussions and networking. |

Creating “wow” experiences: the Erasmus factor in corporate events
No doubt, Athens provides the perfect setting for memorable experiences in any kind of corporate events. Excellent meeting infrastructure, unique venues of historical value or great location – hanging on a cliff above the sea for example – and meeting professionals combining skills and experience with the inherent charisma of traditional Greek hospitality. Erasmus unleashed its potential deploying its professionalism, discipline and creative way of thinking. Coupled with its fantastic network of service minded suppliers Erasmus delivered a “wow” annual sales meeting for a multinational corporation and ensured that enthusiasm was one of the “take away” feelings for its 500 participants. Or, as in the client’s own words: “It has been a great experience not only for me but also for the entire team whom they took back home a memorable meeting they’ll never forget. Thank you and thanks to all your team who made this meeting a successful one”. |

Inaugurating the annual congress of Podiatry and Podology in Greece.
It all started as a modest effort to bring together podiatrists and podologists for the first time in Greece, for two days full of scientific lectures, clinical cases and satellite lectures. Our bet at Erasmus was to surpass modesty and deliver an inaugural congress exceeding the expectations of the organizing committee. The final outcome was outstanding with high attendance and very promising vibes for the continuation of the initiative in the years to come. |

EAACI FAAMily meets in Rome
FAAM 2016 was organized in Rome with a record number of 1150 participants - double the number of attendees of FAAM 2014 in Dublin! A scientific programme comprising symposia, workshops, meet the expert sessions, practical sessions and debates was delivered by a faculty of 111 experts in the field of food allergy and anaphylaxis keeping the interest of attendees at very high levels with some sessions being more than full! The team of Erasmus is proud of having contributed its part to this success. We look forward to welcoming everyone to FAAM 2018 in Copenhagen! |

Rhodes: This year’s meeting point for Greek urologists.
This year, the urological community of Greece met at one of the southeastern parts of the country, the charming and always inviting island of Rhodes. In addition to the main scientific programme, the 23rd Panhellenic Urological Congress featured a number of concurrent sessions such as the ESU Course on localized prostate cancer, the ESPU Educational Course, the SEGUR Session and the Cyprus Urological Association Session. |

Networking with partners
in a… simple way of tourism
The Business Travel Professionals Forum organised by SWOT (Simple Way of Tourism), is a B2B Forum which gives the opportunity to hotels to meet “face to face” with the key persons of DMC’s, PCO’s, MICE, Business Travel & Wholesalers involved in corporate travel and events in Greece. The Erasmus team was there and made the most of this opportunity for relationship building and exchange of views on the latest trends and challenges of hospitality, along with our hotel partners. |

Erasmus @ IBTM 2016 in Barcelona
Our team travelled to colorful Barcelona, where Erasmus participated in IBTM World as co-exhibitors in the Greek Tourism Organization booth, along with the Hellenic Association of Professional Congress Organizers. During this flagship global event for the Meetings Industry, our key objective was to introduce ERASMUS as a top-of-mind choice in the congresses, events, meetings and incentive organizing business. With that in mind, and having scheduled in advance a series of targeted meetings with hosted buyers and trade visitors, we did not miss this great opportunity to catch up with our meetings and events industry partners, to keep an eye on the latest trends and developments and engage in new relationships with potential new partners and prospective clients. |

Greek dermatologists meet for a 12th year in a row
Once again, Erasmus was the trusted partner of the Hellenic Society of Dermatology and Venereology for the organization of its annual congress which took place in Athens, 3-6 November 2016. The scientific programme was extremely interesting as proven by the looks of the meeting rooms which were full at all times! The programme included a number of exciting workshops – and a lucky member of Erasmus team had the privilege to enjoy a cosmetic dermatology treatment by Professors’ hands! |

Erasmus flies to London for the PAAM Scientific Committee Planning Meeting
No one can resist a visit to London in December even if it’s “all work and no joy”! In view of preparations for the next edition of PAAM which will take place in London, 26-28 October 2017, the Scientific Committee met in London on December 9th. The core PAAM team of Erasmus was there to coordinate the logistics and provide organizational support. At the same time we had the opportunity to visit some exceptional venues such as the London Aquarium, Tate Modern, Tower Bridge and the Tower of London looking for the best venue to host the Meeting’s evening functions. So after all it was work and joy combined! |

Warming up for the year ahead …
Broadening horizons in 2017, Erasmus will engage in a number of new disciplines - such as Financial Management with the EFMA Annual 2017 Conference - and will travel to set up and operate a number of conferences in Rome, Lowenstein, Paris, Noordwijk and London. |

An important highlight of next year’s agenda is the IAPCO Edge Seminar organized jointly by Erasmus, Afea and Era in Athens, in January 2017. |
Professional education is a top priority and Erasmus is proud to be part of this collective effort to bring global educational opportunities to the country and make them accessible to local MICE professionals. |
