Highlights from our 1st Semester 2018 projects
In the first half of 2018 the team of Erasmus took part in a “rally” including 11 cities in 7 countries over Europe and America to organize conferences, meetings and events. Our international route - outside Greece - featured exciting stops in Naples, Noordwijk, Buenos Aires, New York, Bonn, Montegrotto, Amsterdam and Lyon for the international events of our esteemed and loyal clients:
  • The European Society of Paediatric Neurosurgery (ESPN)
  • The International Federation of Neuroendoscopy (IFNE)
  • The World Psychiatric Association (WPA) Section on Epidemiology and Public Health
  • The European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE)
  • The Latin American and European Organization Studies (LAEMOS)
  • The Pediatric Nursing Association of Europe (PNAE) - which hosted its conference in Athens this year.
Erasmus life, month by month

January

Education on the EDGE with a flair of … Renaissance.

We traveled to beautiful Florence to attend the highly educational program of IAPCO Edge, bringing back lots of knowledge, new ideas and exchange of business practices shared with the team of Erasmus aiming at becoming better every day!

February

Education continued! Our CEO and member of the Board of the Hellenic Association of Professional Organizers, shared her insights for the development of an excellent program for the HAPCO’s National Congress which took place in Athens, in early February featuring very vivid discussions and inspirational presentations from distinguished speakers.

All work and no joy … isn’t our motto at Erasmus. Every now and then we take a break to celebrate little moments of fun, such as the traditional “tsiknopempti” lunch in the office!
March

Marking the beginning of spring time, we all put on our hands the traditional red & white “Martis bracelet” and set out for our activities full of energy and forward thinking!

One of the month’s highlights was Erasmus’ presence at the 33rd Annual Congress of EAU. Loyal in our annual appointment with the urological community, we made the most of our time in “Wonderful Copenhagen” to connect and raise interest in the 8th Challenges in Endourology meeting (www.challenges-endourology.com) which, for the first time in its history, moved from Paris to new locations: Amsterdam, in June 2018 and then Berlin in 2019.

Before Copenhagen, our CEO traveled to the Navel of the Earth – only 183 km from Erasmus’ offices –  to attend the discussions around “New Globalization and Growth Challenges” in the Delphi Economic Forum.
April

Commitment to quality. Further to a thorough restructuring and conceptualization of its Quality Management System on congress & exhibition organizing, incentive travel and association management services, Erasmus was recertified in April 2018 with the new quality standard, ISO 9001:2015 in accordance with TUV Nord CERT procedures.

During April, the team of Erasmus adopted the final “brace position” in view of the upcoming GDPR by recapping internal training and finetuning our procedures for the protection of personal data which has always been a priority for Erasmus.

May

The Athens Roadshow: Second stop ... Brussels. Joining forces with the Athens Convention and Visitors Bureau to promote the Greek capital as a leisure, city break, conferences and corporate meetings destination, Erasmus, together with partners and “competitors” participated in the presentation to international stakeholders with one common goal: to establish Athens as a MICE destination for good! On May 8th, an Athenian flavor filled the European Parliament building, where the presentation of the Athens Roadshow was hosted.

Always a highlight in the month of May, our CEO’s birthday, most of the times finding the team on-site a meeting! But this year we had the opportunity to briefly celebrate in the office with a colorful flower bunch and the traditional candle blowing! You can watch the video here

Certainly, another “must” in May is the IMEX in Frankfurt and our sales person was there too.

June

In the beginning of June we welcomed to Athens, Sir Arnold, also known as Pompe Power - the teddy bear that travels around the world, to keep company to children with Pompe Disease. He was one of the … invited guests at the 4th Congress on Paediatric Nursing, which gathered nurses devoted to pediatric care for a 2-day program packed with lectures, workshops, round tables and oral presentations on hot topics related to child medical care.

Right afterwards, Erasmus was proudly present in the world’s most prestigious shipping trade event taking place in Athens every two years – Posidonia - under the umbrella of its major stakeholder, Kyvernitis Travel.

Just before the end of June, the Sales “power” of Erasmus flew to London for the Meetings Show and met with partners, discussed new ideas, and explored new opportunities – among which hidden destinations in less explored parts of the UK for our clients’ future meetings.
July

Part of the team returns to Athens from Lyon, after the last Meeting of the season is over – phew! - but still for some of us travels are not over: we fly to Paris, for a site inspection and to an extraordinarily sunbathed, colorful Dublin to represent the European Lifestyle Medicine Organization (one of our AMC and core-PCO clients) in the Annual Congress of the European College of Sports Science

This year we celebrate 25 years of top quality in Events Organizing and the IAPCO Certificate which reached our offices in July certified 10 years of IAPCO accredited specialist services! Erasmus is proud and committed to continuing to deliver best in class service anywhere in the world. Thank you to all our customers and partners in Greece and worldwide for your continued trust to Erasmus.
